Polyurea is a durable pavement marking, which typically lasts from 3 to 5 years. It is created by the chemical reaction of two separate chemicals, and cures shortly after the compounds combine. This material has more or less replaced epoxy as a pavement marking, due to its superior color retention and reflective properties (300 to 500 milicandelas higher than standard paint).

Its short curing time (quick track within 20 minutes) and wide temperature tolerance (it can be applied at 40 degrees F or higher) make it an extremely versatile material. However, its unique application method (spraying of two chemicals simultaneously) requires specialty equipment and care during and leading up to application, and special care is required in preparing the pavement to be marked.
